Charles Alan "Chuck" May, 75, of Ketchikan, Alaska, formerly of Seaside, died Monday, March 1, 2010, in Ketchikan.
He was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Seaside, to Alan and Eileen (Love) May.
He was in the U.S. Army for four years and served in Korea. He was awarded the W-2 Bronze Service Star, Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Medal, U.S. Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. May was a restaurant entrepreneur and and roofing contractor.
Family members said he loved to fish, hunt, restore guns, hike and read.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and Mark Bugas of Lynden, Wash., and Patrica and Tracy DeGandi of Seaside; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Linda May of Milwaukie and Ed and Debra May of Beaverton; a sister, Marilynn Myers of Westport; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A service has already been held in Ketchikan.
